HeckNo Terms of use
- HeckNo is for people aged 16 and over.
- It teaches and coaches; it cannot make anyone safe, and it is not medical advice.
- Subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple. Cancel any time in your App Store settings.
- Practise in a clear space, within your limits, and stop if something hurts.
These terms apply to the HeckNo app and this website, provided by [YOUR NAME], [STREET AND NUMBER], [POSTCODE] [CITY], Germany (“we”). By using HeckNo you agree to them. Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies to the app.
Who can use HeckNo
You must be at least 16 years old. Sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds get a teen version of the course.
What HeckNo is, and what it is not
HeckNo teaches awareness, voice, and physical techniques, and uses your phone’s camera to give feedback on how you move. It cannot make anyone safe. No app, course or technique can guarantee your safety, and HeckNo does not replace training with a qualified instructor and a partner. The app says clearly which drills need a partner before they become a skill.
The lessons summarise published research, with sources. They are general information, not legal, medical or psychological advice for your situation. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
Your health and safety
Physical training carries a risk of injury. Practise in a clear space with nothing to hit or trip over, within your own limits. The app’s movement check and fitness levels are meant to help you start at the right pace; they are not a medical assessment. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have been told to limit exercise, ask a doctor before you start. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. Never practise strikes on a person who has not agreed to it.
Subscriptions
Coaching is available as an auto-renewing subscription, sold and managed by Apple. The price, the length of any free trial and the renewal terms are shown before you buy. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules. Lessons, shout drills and help lines remain free without a subscription.
Content
The app, its lessons, films and designs are protected by copyright. You may use them for your own practice. You may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of an essential contractual obligation, limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms, for example when the app gains new features. The version on this page applies, with its date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app.
Law
German law applies. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country also apply.
